I’m Roshanie, a Toronto-based DJ, known for my global and nostalgic selections. I’m currently a host on ISO Radio and have appeared on CBC Radio’s Metro Morning as a regular music commentator.

With my extensive knowledge in music history and theory, I’ve been a music consultant with RX Music since 2022. In this role, I work with design agencies, owners, and marketers around the world to develop signature sounds for luxury hotels, wellness spaces, restaurants and bars. The communal aspect of music and events is what keeps me curious and inspired. I strive to move people through out-of-the box, thoughtful work, whether you’re meeting me on the dancefloor, the airwaves, or somewhere in between.

SOLIDARITY IN SOUND (SIS)

Solidarity in Sound (SIS) is an educational initiative that aims to advance gender equity in the music industry. SIS has has created a global community of musicians & music professionals through its Herstory series, monthly radio show, and offline events. Their offline and online presence works towards connecting their community to individuals & opportunities that will progress their career in music.

Roshanie has developed Solidarity in Sound through resources & mentorship from:

  • Women in Music Entrepreneur Accelerator presented by Women in Music Canada & Canada’s Music Incubator (6-week program)

  • The Hub Incubator Program presented by Wood Centre for Student Enterprise & Business @ University of Guelph (provincial funding + two 12-week programs)

  • Starter Company Plus presented by Brampton Entrepreneur Centre (12-week program)
